The Groove by Firewire Surfboards is a high-performance thruster with a unique twist, masterfully shaped by freesurf icon Rob Machado. Inspired directly by Rob’s high-performance competitive DNA from the 90s and refined with modern design elements, this board is built for surfers who want to tap into their flow, lock into the pocket, and push their limits. It excels beautifully in punchy surf yet remains incredibly versatile and lively when the conditions turn weaker.

What sets the Groove apart is its highly adaptable personality underfoot. While it is designed to be ridden as a traditional thruster for maximum drive, hold, and structural performance, it easily switches to a 2+1 setup to unlock added playfulness, release, and skatiness in smaller waves. Fast, floaty, and incredibly fun, it adapts instantly to waves ranging from waist-high to overhead.

Built in Firewire's premium Helium technology, the Groove utilizes an ultra-lightweight, durable epoxy structure with a unique, responsive flex memory. High-speed performance configuration paired with an increased rocker template. The generous, finely tuned rocker profile allows the board to fit seamlessly into tight-radius pockets and critical, hollow wave faces without pearling. Working in absolute harmony with the Helium rail flex, the hull contours channel water rapidly to generate exceptional down-the-line velocity, offering ultra-fluid rail-to-rail transitions and maximum drive through every turn.
